14 years later, all I see is love and lessons. It was hard love, but it taught me how to work hard and take responsibility for my actions. In the last few years Dad has taken a very different path and now it’s my turn to show him the ‘hard love’. I want him to know that while he may have made some mistakes with us kids, he did the best with what he had. And his best produced some awesome results. He and Mum made a formidable team. But now that he’s on his own, he needs to remember his own lessons. Dad, only you can make the choice to change and it’s gonna be hard work. Something I know you’re good at. You built a life from the ground up once and now it’s time to do that again. I finally see that you are human and you have weaknesses, just like the rest of us. I want you to know that it’s okay to ask for help, and that we’re here for you. I love you!
