Part 1
“My daughter turned 24 in September, but I’ll never forget her birth. After a long labour, she entered the world at 7:23pm. When I held her in my arms I was so excited. She was like a brand new toy. I felt so blessed. I wanted to do everything I could to protect her. The next day some friends and I took our guitars and sung her a waiata in hospital. The nurses and doctors thought it was so cute. Occasionally I remind my daughter about this story, which she still cracks up at but I’m sure that’s why she sings like an angel now. I kind of knew she would be a clever girl, now she’s clever with an attitude! Beautiful too.”
