I am the proud mother of three sons. I am also proud of the way that I have handled losing my youngest son. I never thought that would happen to me. Armani was 15 months old and he died suddenly about a year and a half ago. I re-assessed my life at this time. I could have become really depressed, but I felt that I had to be strong, for my husband and for my other children, to get things organised. I was really busy and had lots of energy, and that seems to have continued since then. I left my job and channelled my energy and emotion into creating something that I have always had a passion for. I wanted to see our young Pacific and Maori women build their self confidence and be able to express themselves through different mediums, such as dance, creativity and photography. This was how Sisters United begun. I am also really proud of this.
