“My heart broke as I watched a tear run down her face. Her body was unable to show emotion but the joy that we were able to bring her that day was portrayed through her tears. This woman had had a stroke some years prior and her body was in the same position as the day of the stroke. Being surrounded by my Chihuahuas in the rest home had brought happiness to her life at that moment. When I saw her smile I thought I had won the lottery.
I have loved Chihuahuas for over 24 years and have been sharing them as therapy dogs in rest homes with the elderly. My reward is seeing their happiness and developing friendships. I just want to make a difference where I can.”
