“I’m passionate about Pacific people in my community. I feel like as a lawyer I have an amazing privilege where I can not only empathise with people’s struggles and what they go through, but I also have an opportunity to help them with what is often a really traumatic experience.
It’s part of the reason why I have my blog. I want to make Pacific Island role models more accessible. When I was growing up I wasn’t good at sport or performing arts…I was a dork. The purpose of my blog is to say, “Hey, there’s so much more to us!”. Right now, I’m working on a series which showcases educated pacific island women who are succeeding in their respective careers.
I can’t say I’m sure what the future holds for me, but I have this unwavering belief that my purpose is to help people in my community. So I’m going to continue working as hard as I can to do that.”
