I remember when I was younger, and we’d go to the airport and I’d see people dressed up in their suits with their little briefcases. I’d wonder what it would be like to fly around for work, I thought that it would be cool. For me, getting a taste of that now, I can’t believe I’m actually here! This was a dream, an idea, a “what would it be like?”. It’s hard to believe. I’m really thankful. This feels like success to me. It’s exactly what my parents wanted. I fly back home each weekend, because I know there is still work here to do for my family and for my community as well. If I didn’t grow up in Otara, if I didn’t have the background that I do have, it wouldn’t have led me to where I am today.
