Although she won’t admit it, I’m my mum’s favourite! When I was in high school we went out every Wednesday morning for breakfast together, just us. We would talk about anything and everything. It was something that I really valued and was special to me.
My mum is the embodiment of sacrifice. I spent lots of time in hospital as a teen and she lost jobs because she chose to spend her time with me there. She has always been there for me. We have differences of opinions but I know that I can go to her, and go home to her. She is great at just being there, not needing to have all the answers. She is a wise woman and when I told her that I was going to leave high school she was disappointed, but she said “You can do anything in your life as long as you make the decision. I will be there to support you”. Today she can see the rewards of me making my own decisions and I know that she is proud of me.
