“I had a lot of behavioural problems as a child and was transferred to live in various boy homes. At age twenty three I was sentenced to a ten year prison term. I hadn’t learnt my lesson when I was released and I went from the gang scene to the drug scene.
I came undone at the age of forty. When my Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s I made a decision to move back home to be with my parents. It was this period that really woke me up. I remembered the hard times I had put my dad through; the times I was locked up in jail, the visits from police…Who was there through it all? My Dad. Those five years I spent help caring for my Dad I learnt about hope, healing and unconditional love.”
